NDLEA CDS elects new executives

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Community Development Service (CDS) group has appointed a new set of executive members to lead its ongoing mission of promoting drug-free lifestyles and raising awareness about substance abuse across Oyo State. The appointment ceremony, held at the Akinyele Local Government Secretariat, was attended by corps members, stakeholders, and representatives of the NDLEA.


The newly appointed executives expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to the task ahead. The team vowed to continue the fight against drug abuse by engaging in community outreach programs, educational campaigns, and partnership efforts with schools, local authorities, and youth groups.

In his address, the newly appointed President, Mr Adio Michael, emphasized the importance of sustained efforts in combating the rising menace of drug abuse, particularly among young people. "Our generation has a crucial role to play in ensuring a drug-free society. Through targeted awareness campaigns, we can educate our peers about the dangers of substance abuse and help them make informed decisions," he said.

The outgoing President  praised the achievements of the CDS group during his tenure and expressed confidence in the ability of the new executives to build on the foundation laid. "It has been an honor leading this group, and I have no doubt that this new team will take our advocacy efforts to even greater heights," he remarked.


The NDLEA CDS group has been instrumental in organizing sensitization programs in schools and communities, educating the public on the harmful effects of drug abuse, and promoting healthy, drug-free lifestyles. The group’s activities have had a significant impact in curbing the spread of illicit drugs in various communities across Oyo State.

As the new leadership takes charge, corps members and community leaders alike have expressed optimism for a more robust engagement that will lead to greater awareness and long-term solutions to drug-related challenges in the state.
