Christiana: I'm Christianah Oseni from Editorial CDS too.

My PPA was IITA because of my interest in research for development in the Agricultural sector.

Me: what will you miss the about your service year?

Christiana: IITA free access to the Internet. It contributed a lot to my career growth.

Me: (LAUGHS)

I understand oo

Me: what's your career plan and what's your major plan after nysc?

Christiana: My plan is to major in plant breeding hence why I served at IITA which helped to fuel my dreams. Plant breeding has been on my mind since undergraduate days, and undergraduate days was more of theory than pratical. IITA gave me that pratical platform I require. My plan after NYSC is to be under a molecular breeder to learn more and have hands on experience in breeding generally.

Me: what exactly do you love most and hate most about your service year?

Christiana: what I love most was that my PPA afforded me the opportunity to do the things that I wanted to do during my service year.

Me: hmmm, beautiful I must say

Me: I'm glad you enjoyed your service year. You found purpose and that's beautiful

Christiana: What I hate the most: I planned to chop life and go out more during my service year but i couldn't.

Though I had a work-life balance....sort of... but my social life didn't improve the way I thought it was going to.

Me: (smiles) chop life geng

Me: what advice would you give to corpers to make the most out of their service year?

Christiana: Always think about the impact of what you're doing today on your tomorrow. It will help you when making choices

Me:Hmmmmm, did you undertake any project during your service year that you are most proud of?

Christiana: - Yes, exposure to a PhD research project 

- orphanage outreach with IITA corpers

- secondary schools outreaches.

- Hands-on-training

- being part of the volunteers for symposium and conferences

Me: What was your major challenge in service year?

Christiana: waking up early to get to work before 7: 30 am was a bit challenging for me. Most of my friends resume work by 8am while me I have to wake up as soon as possible to prepare. I got used to it after a while actually.

Me: if you could change one thing about the nysc program, what will that be and why?

Christiana: Being more social

I suck at having fun(laughter)

Me: I don't know if I can ask personal questions

Christiana: Ok, go ahead.

Me: thank u

Me: pls are you engaged?

- Christiana: This is part of the reason I want to be more social(laugh)

Christiana: I am single.

Me: ahhh

Christiana: No time to see them.😂😂

Me: how much were u able to save during service year?

Christiana: well, I was able to save. Not much though, a bit above 100k.

And I'm about to spend it(smile)

Christiana: Enioluwa.

I'm amazed at his journey and vibes.

Christiana: I just like the fact that he enjoys food and shows it in his contents.

I enjoy good food too...like...I love to eat.

Christiana: That there will be hike in prices of stuffs(laughs)
