Empowering Female Corps Members for Post-Service Employability: Insights from the Job Advocacy for Passing Out Corps Members (JAC) Program"

 In a recent event organized by NYSC Job Advocacy for the passing Out Corps Members (JAC), held at the Akinyele Local Government Hall in Akinyele Council on Tuesday, 26th March 2024, significantly empowered corps members present with insightful and professional tactics to achieving their goals. The program was anchored by Jobberman Nigeria with the presence of Mr. Ogunro, the LGI, which added even more significance to the event. The atmosphere at Akinyele Local Government was charged with excitement and anticipation as the Job Advocacy for the Passing Out Corps Members (JAC) program took center stage. This particular edition of JAC was tailored for the female gender, highlighting the commitment to gender-specific empowerment initiatives





Mr. Abiodun, the speaker from Jobberman Nigeria, delivered a powerful talk on various topics, including soft skills, effective communication, creativity, and self-awareness. He also provided valuable insights on building confidence, emphasizing steps such as self-acceptance, believing in one's abilities, working on self-image, self-estimation, positive self-talk, self-analysis, and effective time management. He covered several important areas that are crucial for success in the job market.



One of the key topics Mr. Abiodun focused on was effective communication. He emphasized the importance of being able to express oneself clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing. He provided tips on how to improve communication skills, such as active listening, using appropriate body language, and being mindful of non-verbal cues.




Another topic that Abiodun highlighted was creativity. He discussed how creativity can help individuals stand out in the job market and bring fresh ideas to the table. He encouraged participants to think outside the box, embrace innovation, and find creative solutions to challenges they may encounter in their professional lives. Self-awareness was also a significant topic of discussion during the program. Mr. Abiodun emphasized the importance of understanding one's strengths, weaknesses, and personal values. 


He encouraged participants to reflect on their career aspirations, identify their passions, and align their professional goals with their personal values. Lastly, Mr. Abiodun touched and stressed the significance of confidence-building. He provided practical strategies to boost self-confidence, such as practicing positive self-talk, setting achievable goals, and celebrating small victories along the way.He emphasized that confidence plays a crucial role in job interviews, networking, and overall career success. 






To assess the participants' progress, a baseline test was conducted, and upon completion of the program, certificates were issued to acknowledge their participation and achievements and to also symbolize their commitment to acquiring valuable skills for future employment opportunities. As a token of appreciation, participants were also provided with bottled water, Fab chocolate/shortcake, and malt. The overarching goal of JAC is to empower corps members with the necessary soft skills to enhance their employability prospects post-service year. Through initiatives like JAC, organizations like Jobberman Nigeria are contributing significantly to the development of a skilled and competitive workforce, paving the way for a brighter future for young professionals in Nigeria.
